1. Introduction
Welcome to Foveo Vision (“Foveo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy while enabling state-of-the-art computer vision solutions. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you access our website, use our Model Studio platform, deploy our edge components, or interact with our services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using our Services, you consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any terms of this policy, please discontinue use of our Services immediately.
2. Edge vs. Cloud Processing Architecture
A central tenet of Foveo's architectural design is privacy-by-design. Unlike traditional video analytics platforms that require constant streaming of raw footage to external cloud servers, Foveo functions primarily as an edge-first system:
All live video feeds are processed locally on your edge nodes (e.g., Foveo Edge agents). Raw image frames and video recordings do not leave your local network infrastructure unless you explicitly configure the cloud-archiving feature in your Model Studio console.
Where cloud components are utilized (e.g., inside the Foveo Model Studio for retraining models), we enforce strict data minimization, anonymization (such as auto-blurring faces and license plates at the edge before upload), and secure, encrypted transmission pipelines.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information from and about users of our Services in two primary categories:
- Account Information: Personal identifiers such as your name, business email address, organization name, job role, and billing details provided when setting up an account or request a demo.
- Edge Node Telemetry: Non-personal metadata collected automatically from your local deployments. This includes CPU/GPU usage metrics, edge system uptime, inference latency statistics, and container logs. This data is strictly used for platform maintenance and billing computations.
- Platform Usage Data: Information about how you interact with the Foveo Web Platform (Model Studio, dashboards). This includes page view logs, selected models, and configuration parameters.
4. How We Use Data
Foveo uses the collected data for the following operational and development purposes:
- To deliver, maintain, and upgrade the computer vision models and core software.
- To process transactions, manage billing, and maintain your user profile.
- To monitor and analyze telemetry data to diagnose software errors, maintain Edge agent stability, and optimize pipeline latency.
- To protect the security and integrity of our systems and prevent unauthorized access or system misuse.
- To communicate with you regarding security updates, account alerts, and billing.
5. Retention & Storage
We retain account credentials and billing records for as long as your account remains active, or as required by law.
Any telemetry records, platform usage stats, and model configurations are anonymized or purged within 90 days of collection.
Customer-Owned Data: Any video snippets or frames stored in your private cloud sandbox for model training are owned entirely by you. Foveo retains this data only for the duration requested by the customer, and implements auto-pruning rules configured by the customer.
6. Security Architecture
We employ industry-leading technical measures to defend data against theft or misuse:
- Transport Layer Security: All API requests and cloud communications utilize TLS 1.3 encryption.
- At-Rest Encryption: All database storage, cached model parameters, and files utilize AES-256 encryption.
- Network Isolation: Edge agents run in containerized environments with strict sandbox restrictions and local-only access.
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC): Access to cloud resources, telemetry logs, and customer dashboards is gated by multi-factor authentication (MFA) and granular permissions.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have legal rights regarding your personal information, including:
- The right to request access to and receive copies of the personal data we hold.
- The right to request rectification of inaccurate data.
- The right to request erasure of your data from our active storage.
- The right to restrict or object to the processing of your data.
To exercise these rights, please submit a request to our privacy team via the contact channels provided below.
